The program
Local help, close to home.
Based in Dawson Creek, the region includes communities north along Hwy 97 and 77 to the Yukon border, south to Tumbler Ridge, west to the northern Rockies (Lemoray), and east to the Alberta border. It includes Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Hudson’s Hope, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Fort Nelson, and Toad River.
The Peace Bat Conservation Project was designed to help draw awareness to bat conservation in the Peace region by providing information on bats and getting public assistance in locating existing bat colonies, while establishing monitoring for known bat populations.
